Alpine Scenic Jeep Tours was created to provide clients with the ultimate in safety, comfort, affordability and vehicle performance. Our office is located at 920 Main Street in downtown Ouray. Trips meet at the office. You can park anywhere you like on Main Street all day long!
Always feel free to call us with questions or to book your trip although we encourage you to book online. It is a free, fast and secure service and is the best way to get your information accurately. For bookings 12 hours or less before departure please call 970-318-6513.
Trips are charged at the time of booking. We do have a 48 hour cancellation/reschedule policy if you can't make it or need to change your tour date.
Please note we DO NOT use the JEEP brand for our 6-10 passenger tour vehicles. As a matter of fact none of Ouray's tour companies use the JEEP brand for their group tours. The word JEEP has been adopted by the American public as a catch all term for an off road vehicle. It is like calling a facial tissue a Kleenex. Nobody in the tour business is trying to trick you, it's just easier for everyone to call a scenic off road 4x4 tour a JEEP tour. We DO use a 2017 JEEP Rubicon for our private tours. If you would like to tour with Alpine, please reserve in advance. We can accommodate last minute reservations but our tour trucks often fill during our peak periods. We answer the phone around 7am daily if you need a trip that day. Afternoon trips usually have more room.
Alpine Scenic Tours shares an office with Canyoning Colorado. The office is staffed from starting June 15 to September 15. Canyoning Colorado offers high adventure trips through Ouray's scenic slot canyons. Check our their website at www.canyoningcolorado.com.
The best way to book tours is to book online (it is a free service) or stop into the office. Texting at 970-318-6513 is a great way ask a question or request a call back. You can also email us through our CONTACT US page.
"Go further and see more." is our motto. All of our half day tours give you about 3.5 to 4 hours of exciting sightseeing no matter which destination you pick. We keep our best tours close to Ouray so there is very little highway travel. Your scenic tour out of Ouray might be the only one you ever take or it may be one of many. Either way, we know you want to see as much as possible during your trip. Our guides share as much historical/geological/botanical information with you on the fly via our onboard PA system. Stops are made for photos or short scenic walks but we don't hang out in any one place to long unless you request it. There are many things to see so we keep moving. Alpine Scenic Tours also prefer the road less travelled. That means we avoid crowded areas and explore little know side roads when possible.
Most folks refer to Scenic Tours as "Jeep" Tours, and that's ok. Alpine's tour trucks are modified Dodge Ram 4x4 beasts. Lifted and modified suspension systems gives riders a comfortable ride and superior views. Being easy to enter and exit the vehicles, both young and old can enjoy the scenic wonders of the San Juan Mountains. The trucks at Alpine hold fewer passengers than other operators so you always have your own personal space. Our large truck holds 9 and the small truck holds 6. We believe less is more. The passenger area offers individual comfortable bucket seats that are spread out for tons of leg room. These seats are also HEATED. That's right, each seat has a individual heat control because it can be be chilly at 13,114 feet . Adjustable three point safety belts keep passengers secure and safe no matter how big a rock we crawl over.
Our private tours utilize a modified 2017 Jeep Rubicon. The Rubicon is Jeeps ultimate 4x4 vehicle. We have the Rubicon equipped with a convertible top to keep you warm and dry no matter what the weather has in store.
Alpine Scenic Tours engages only the most friendly and talented guides available. They are experts on road and scenic conditions. We strive to take you the best spots for that specific day. Not only can our guides easily navigate the most difficult roads but also answer your questions along the way. All staff members are first responder and CPR certified. You are in the best of hands at Alpine.
